Welcome, Fin Fever.   While definitely NOT a guru,  I recall this fantastic- American Mark "Stardust" ski boat, from Segment #6 "Showboats"  from my series, "American Classic Speedboats"  The segment features an interview with Joe Wallace, (mercboat in this forum) who researched the boat and even does biographical material about the designer.  It is absolutely a great collectible boat in apparently, original condition.  What a find!  You can contact Joe now by searching mercboat in the members list where you will find an email option that channels through the board site.

Your boat is at 16:30 in the timeline.

Thanks Bob!  What a great resource your video's are!

Hey, Fin Fever!  Did you say; "59 Glastron Sea Flight Retractable Hardtop"?  That would be the first one of those I have heard of.  I know they were advertised as I have the literature, but I have never seen one in captivity. Can you post some pictures?  Thanks!!!

Hi Fin:  No problem, thanks for posting them!  That is a fantastic find!  Never saw one before.  Please let me know if you ever want to sell or trade.  Do you have a windshield for it?  Looks like there was some kind of a windshield surround, to go with the channel in the front of the slide.  Very unusual boat!

Close on the American Marc Stardust - but not quite.  Your boat is actually a Craig Craft Spitfire.  It was made by Craig Systems Inc, a company that purchased the rights to build and sell the American Marc "Stardust" in the Eastern USA.  The difference between the Stardust and the Spitfire is only in the badging.  The American Marc had a bitchin' emblem on the snout that looked amazingly like the little emblems on the crew shirts of the USS "Enterprise" (Star Trek)  The dash also had an emblem that said "Stardust" in swoopy cursive style - looking just like the Stardust hotel sign in Las Vegas.    The stern sides had a block letter emblem that simply said...  American - Marc.  There is a deck rise just ahead of the windshield landing that had a decal that also said "American Marc" in bold lettering.

Your boat was manufactured for maybe a year or two.
